Micah Adams - Nickel Leaf Studs
These are a pair of stud earrings made from older generation Canadian nickels, issued from 1922-1936. The nickel actually gets its name during this period as Canada was proud of its nickel mining industry. The new 1922 design coincided with the coin's composition changing from 80% silver to pure nickel. Canada was the largest producer of the metal at that time. Since then the coin has been known as the "nickel". This particular double leaf motif was also used for the penny design that was introduced a couple of years previous. Here you will find them made into stud earrings with sterling silver earring posts.
Made in Toronto.
Materials: nickel, sterling silver posts.
